Kigoma Horizon

Beautiful citrus notes and a distinct sweetness characterize this washed red bourbon from the Kigoma sector in the Huye Mountain area.

This fully washed coffee comes from the Horizon Supreme washing station in an area that is known to produce some of the highest quality coffee in the country.

The Horizon Supreme washing station is located in the southern hills of Rwanda, just north of the town of Butare. The station was originally built in 2006 but it wasn't until 2018 Fidele purchased it that he was able to make it operational. While the washing station sits at 1700m the surrounding farms are higher, close to 2000m.

About 1200 local small holder farmers provide their coffee to the Horizon washing station and about 70% of the stations workforce is woman.

The high altitude and sufficient rains allow this region to produce some of the highest quality coffee in the country.
